Back in 2008 I went with my Mum to visit her brother and sister-in-law at their home in Neuvicq-le-Chateau, located in the Charente-Maritime department in the south west of France.
Detached stone houses are scattered between endless fields full of vines and sunflowers.
It was a fantastic week, glorious weather, beautiful scenery and a lovely place to visit for my first ever time abroad.
