As I wrote yesterday’s post on social media I started thinking about the way I blog and how I’m planning some changes over the course of 2020.

When I first started this blog I only posted after I’d taken a trip, then I started writing about living in Oxford and the occasional day trip and weekend break, then gradually I added in other topics such as health, blogging and books. However, I am only one person and I have a full time job, and as much as I try to be creative with my annual leave fitting in this blog as well can also be a little stressful and leave me rather stretched. This is why I’m changing the way I blog in 2020.

Changing the Way I Blog in 2020

I think I’m pretty good at planning my content in advance and batch creating. However there are times when life takes over and the blog has to take a backseat. This is perfectly reasonable and I’m ok with having to give myself permission to take that much needed break, but when I’ve planned content and then (for whatever reason) need to try and reschedule posts it can get a little stressful and this is where that dreaded feeling of failure can rear its ugly head.

I’ve also been thinking about the actual content I’m creating and to be honest there are some posts I just don’t enjoy writing as much as others, so I’m going to start rethinking how and what I write.

How I’m Changing the Way I Blog

The only way to get better at something and more productive is to keep doing it, to make it a habit. This is why I’m going to be making a more conscious effort to write every day, to be better at creating content in larger batches so that I have plenty scheduled ahead of time so that I can then allow myself larger periods of time to rest.

I’ve spent some time looking back at past blog posts and I’ve soon came to the realisation that the ones I’m least happy with are the accommodation and product reviews – so I’m changing the way I write these in the future. As always I’d appreciate your feedback as when these are published.

My main focus with the blog is for whoever reads it to be inspired and feel encouraged to go out and travel themselves, to focus on their health (both mental and physical) and to find the things that they enjoy and fills their lives with make them happy.
