4 Day Trips to Take From Marrakech

Ouarzazate

Located in South-Central Morocco, Berber-speakers make up the majority of the town’s inhabitants, who were responsible for the creation of many of the prominent kasbahs. It is primarily a tourist destination as well as a starting point for excursions into and across the Draa Valley.

Essaouira

Located in the West, on the Atlantic coast, the medina is home to many small arts and crafts businesses, notably cabinet making and wood-carving which have been practised in Essaouira for centuries, as well as being known as one of the major fishing harbours in Morocco, Essaouira is also a center of argan oil production.

Rabat

The capital city of Morocco is in the North of the country and located on the Atlantic coast. Outside of the traditional walled Medina are a number of neighbourhoods along the waterfront, with shops and restaurants as well as the truly authentic kasbah.

Safi

This coastal city is one of the oldest in Morocco so obviously has a rich history. It is also a big fishing port with a beautiful coastline that attracts many visitors, despite being less picturesque that other coastal cities. However it is also for the brightly coloured pottery that is produced and sold at the local markets.
