I love reading posts like this at the end of each year. I’m all for people celebrating their achievements and reminiscing over things they’ve done and places they been. We should all take time to appreciate the good and positive, especially at this time of year. So for one of my last blog posts of the year I have taken some time to write a short review of 2018.

A Review of 2018

Travel

Visiting new places is always exciting. Whether it’s in the UK, Europe or further afield.

The Exploring Oxfordshire series continued with visits to Dorchester-on-Thames and Witney. I spent a glorious week in Guernsey which also included a day trip to the island of Herm (this may be my favourite destination of the year.)

There was a wonderful visit to Rotterdam which turned out to be a fascinating city, plus an amazing weekend trip in Belgium – a country which I am definitely planning to revisit.

I may not be travelling extensively each year but the trips I am taking are meaningful and highly enjoyable, meaning that I am already thinking about and making travel plans for next year.

Blogging

Whilst in Rotterdam I attended my second Traverse Conference (if you’ve never been then read this post) and I can’t wait to go again in 2019 when it’s being held in Italy!

2018 was also the year I went on my first press trip. A trip to Brussels with Wowtrip and a group of lovely and talented bloggers.

There have been a few stumbling blocks and creative lulls but overall I am enjoying the blogging process more and more.

Personal

Personally 2018 has been a good year. I’m still enjoying my full time job and am enjoying the process of blogging – this is still very much a hobby and I have no plans to change this, although the notion of working with brands and being part of the blogging community is definitely a draw for the next year.
