If you are planning a trip to Japan it is likely that Kyoto is on your bucket list and once you’ve arrived it is obvious why it attracts so many visitors. There are plenty of reasons why you should visit Kyoto and will likely make you want to visit again.

 

Why You Should Visit Kyoto

1. Temples and Shrines

If you visit Japan and plan on seeing some temples and shrines then Kyoto is definitely the place to come, with around 1600 Buddhist temples and 400 Shinto shrines there’s a good chance that you’ll see a few during your time here.

2. Cherry Blossoms

Depending on the time of year that you visit Japan you’ll probably be hoping to see the beautiful cherry blossoms, if so then Kyoto is definitely the place to visit.

3. Stay in a Ryokan

A ryokan is a traditional Japanese inn and Kyoto is home to many of them, so if you are looking to experience an authentic Japanese style of accommodation and lifestyle during your time in Japan then this should definitely be something to consider when planning your trip.

4. Bamboo Forests

Arrive early in the morning and find inner peace whilst strolling between tall bamboo stalks as they sway gently in the breeze at one of Kyoto’s most tranquil bamboo groves.
